Vietnam Babylift Personal Stories

Ann Vermiere

There were about 100 kids home before this evacuation came to pass.

Kim Hoa was one who arrived on March 2-75.

Josh arrived on the plane that Gerald Ford unloaded.

They met on the first trip to VN in '89/planned by the State Dept. and the VN emissary to United Nations. We WERE AN EXPERIMENT / we really had to put our faith first...we knew nothing about the dangers, the possibilities - we just went forward in trust.

Jade Do Manteiv Bingham and parents,

Courtney & (can't think of her name right now),

Jodi Darragh's daughters,

Connie something - from St. Louis and her son...

Josh Lang and parents,

Randy Rogers Vietnam Vet and Jade's Uncle,

Me, Marc and Kim Hoa...

We were a really varied and mixed up bunch... but as Jodi described it--WE HAD THE FORTUNE OF BEING ON GOD'S TRIP...

Others have gone on their own, as you know.

So much to tell...so many years. But, we had the time of our lives...a true life rollercoaster...we went from laughter to crying in minutes...Kim and Marc cried the most...I think they had the BEST handle on what exactly was going on and what they were part of.

We became a benefactor to a wonderful man Troung Van Phong...we still write and his words are constant praise and thankfulness. We are sending the money for his youngest son, Phat, to go to the University this year.

Just think...If we had never opened that door to our hearts and let those little love bugs in? What an empty life we would have had...

You CAN save the world...one child at a time.

God love you...ANN

***Editor's Note .. .Kim Hoa is Marc and Ann's daughter. She and Josh are now happily married!***
