Vietnam Babylift Personal Stories

Dear Lana,

Thank you, because you're the first one trying to list all civilian people who died in the Galaxy crash.

I knew Dolly Bui quite well. She always seemed to be so happy and optmistic, everytime I could see her home, when she came regularly to France with the children who had to be adopted.

In 1975 I was 15 years old, and Dolly worked with my mother for a French adoption organization. Dolly was managing an orphanage in Saigon, where she was living for many years with all her family.

A few days before the crash, her husband and her elder daughter Marina, took another flight to France and were safe.

But Dolly was still in Saigon with her 3 other children : David, Michou and Tina Bui. She was staying there because it was very difficult to find a place on an aircraft. And until the last moment, she had to take care of all the orphans who had to be evacuated.

Tina was the first to die. There was an enormous hole in the fuselage of the plane, and Tina was aspired out, before the plane crashed to the ground. It's a whole family who died this day. And nobody seemed to care about it before you. Only the women from American Army were listed in memoriam. But what about all civilian and non-American people who died too?

So many volunteers from many countries, so many children that people all around the word are still mourning for ...
