Vietnam Babylift Personal Stories
Unfortunately, I do not recall much for when I came to the United States I was only six months old. My adopted parents gave me a chance to live the American Dream and I am living it now. All I can remember through the papers is that I was on the C5 when it went down and and that I arrived in the United States on April 11, 1975.
First, I would like to say that my adopted mother is my gaurdian angel. In fact, my mother and I have been planning on getting a scrapbook together about my journey to the United States. Furthermore, I am married to a wonderful wife and have two wonderful older sisters and an amazing stepfather who I look up to with the upmost respect. My in-laws are some of the most amazing people as we speak. On the day I arrived in the U.S., my youngest sister (but older than me) thought I was her birthday present because of the date. It was her birthday.
I am so thankful for the opportunity to live here in this great country and would like to someday travel back to Vietnam with my current family to share the experiences of what could have been.
I now live in Addison, TX, so if there is anyone out there that live in the same area, please feel free to send me an email at Gshea74@yahoo.com
Finally, I would like to give a thanks to this website for letting me tell as much of the story as I know it.
