Vietnam Babylift Personal
Stories
June Sekiguchi
Although I was not one of the evacuated
orphans, Operation Baby Lift tremendously effected me for the rest of my life.
When
the Navy Hospital Long Beach (California) received the tasking, I was assigned
as Chief Nurse, US Army Health Clinic, Fort McArthur, CA. My staff was staffed
to assist the Navy. My branch of the service was more accustomed to queing large
numbers of people. We reorganized the queing of the beloved orphams as they were
processed for departure to their ultimate destinations. Deep within the furrows
of my heart, I remember some of the innocent victims of disengagement from birth
families and reengagement with their new American families. To this day, I wonder
about each of the children and hope to be able to hear about them. My staff worked
with the Navy as long as we were needed to process these innocent victims of the
war.
No, I am not attempting to reconnect with any specific Orphan.
I
am an native born American Japanese who now resides in Windcrest, a suburb of
San Antonio, TX
Yes, if you wish to post my story on this website, please
feel free to do so. God Bless these children of Viet Nam who are now patriotic
Americans.
