My name is Reinaldo Torres, USA Army Ret. Doing research about my medical units in Viet Nam, I came across this report about the Operation Babylift. I was on duty at the USAMMA-PAC-Okinawa (United States Medical Material Agency-Pacific) that day, Sunday morning when I received the official phone call from the states. I was on Staff Duty that day. I took the message and contacted my superiors about the message. Within one hour we were working at the depot getting the supplies ready to be sent to Vietnam thru Kadena Air Force Base, Okinawa. I can't recall now when we were told that one plane full of orphans had crashed. Our hearts left our bodies. We became zombies. I had never thought about it any more until now when I found the article.
