Vietnam Babylift Personal
Stories
Trish Page
My brother was adopted by my family in April, 1975. He was adopted as a part
of the Canadian Babylift, to Toronto, Canada, through Sacred Heart Orphanage.
He was six weeks old when he was adopted and his birth date is thought to
be February 14th, 1975. His heritage is thought to be Vietnamese Cambodian.
My parents have always said that his name was Van Thien Binh, but I
believe that it might actually be Binh Van Thien.
His Canadian life has been horribly troubled and no one has heard from him
in over five years. We have no idea if he is alive. He has a young daughter
who has never known her heritage, or her father. I am hoping to find information
on his birth family, and pass that information on to my niece. Hopefully,
one day, when my brother resurfaces, I can also share this information with
him. We believe that if he is still alive that he is in Canada, while I live
with my own family in the United States.
